Life Groups

At Westgate, our goal is not to be a church with life groups … it’s to be a church OF life groups. We believe very strongly that life groups are the lifeblood of our congregation, and we encourage all of our members to join. For a listing of our groups, leaders, and meeting times, please look in our Sunday morning bulletin.

We envision our life groups being summed up in one word: S-H-A-R-E.

S – Service to one another in our groups and service to the community
H – Healing that comes from relationships and an atmosphere of confession and openness
A – Application of the teaching from our sermons and classes
R – Relationships that are based on Jesus
E – Evangelistic gatherings that foster an environment that helps people invite friends to our Life Group meetings

The two biggest things we want to accomplish with our Life Groups are relationships in Christ and application of our teachings in real practical ways.

The weekly sermon discussion guides are divided into three sections: Opening; Delving Deep; and Application. The first questions on the guide are designed to be ice breakers and get people talking. The second set of questions get into the interpretation of the passage(s) we are studying. The final set of questions deal with application of the teaching.
